Description of Ministry

Cashiers: This volunteer position is the lead person for each shift. This volunteer has been serving at least 6 months and is trained in all 3 positions of the Coffee Bar. The cashier is responsible for ringing in sales, closing, and overseeing all the other volunteers for the shift. This volunteer sets the tone for each shift.

Master Blenders: These volunteers learn to make all of the great frozen drinks the Coffee bar has to offer.

Baristas: The Baristas are the drink masters of hot drinks. Learn how to make Latte's, Mochas, Cappuccinos and more! This position takes additional training, especially for the rush!

Runners: The runners are usually the youngest volunteers; minimum age is 10 and you must be able to carry a 25lb bag of ice. These volunteers run to get milk, ice, whipped cream and more; whatever is needed whenever it's needed. They also keep the tables cleaned, stock the straws, and wash out the blenders. It's the best way to learn the ropes of Coffee Bar.

Coffee Saints: One of the most important ministries is our Free Coffee ministry. These volunteers make all the free coffee for all the services week in and week out. How many places can you go to get a free cup of coffee and hear the Word of God at the same time? This Ministry makes a big difference for those new to the church.

Why does this ministry exist?

The Coffee Bar's first line of ministry is to provide ALL the coffee and supplies for the Free Coffee Ministry. The proceeds from the Coffee Bar pay for every cup of coffee made on the premises. The Coffee Bar wants everyone attending weekend services to experience the best free cup of coffee around. We serve approximately 2000 cups of coffee each week.

First Serve Opportunity: There are several opportunities to "First Serve" in the Coffee Bar Ministry. To "First Serve" as a Master Blender or a runner arrive 30 minutes prior to any service and tell the volunteer's at the coffee bar that you are there to "First Serve." Most shifts are approximately 2 hours. You can also First Serve in the Free Coffee Ministry, just show up 30 minutes before any service and tell the friendly volunteers in the kitchen area you are there to "First Serve" in the Free Coffee Ministry.
