Proverbs 3:6 (NLT)
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
And of course, here it is in context:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.

1 Corinthians 7:21 (NLT)
Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.
Matthew 6:8 (NLT)
Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
In context with the previous verse:
Matthew 6:7-8 (NLT)
7“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even
Matthew 6:7 (NLT)

Titus 1:15 (NLT)
Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.
All right, break's over. It's time to get back to this.
Philippians 4:8 (NLT)
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Paul tells it straight in my new favorite verse from Galatians.
Galatians 6:3 (NLT)
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
I don't know how you're doing on the memorization, but I'm struggling to keep up on it. So, I thought a shorter verse would be in order for the next one.
Matthew 7:1 (NLT)
Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
Okay, I announced this last Sunday night at illuminate and then promptly forgot to actually post it. Sorry about that.
Romans 8:28 (NLT)
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Hey, it's already time for a new verse. I like this one because of the implications of the human condition. God didn't create people to be isolated. He created them to live in relationship with him, but he also created them to live in relationships with other people.
Genesis 2:18 (NLT)
Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for
It's time for a new verse. I shared this one last night at illuminate as one of my favorites.
Romans 12:2 (NLT)
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
I'm a fan of context. So we're going to back up a bit and add to what we've already memorized. It's a bit longer, but I have confidence in all of us.
Philippians 3:12 (NLT)
I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
Now, did you see that? This means
Well, let's just finish that sentence, shall we?
Philippians 3:14 (NLT)
...I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
I'm glad you've decided to memorize scripture with me this year. God always blesses the reading of his Word, and when we commit it to memory, it becomes so much more than just words off a page. We start to understand why the Bible really is the living Word of God. I'll be posting two verses every month on the first and fifteenth.
Here's the first verse I gave last night at illuminate, so start
