As Jesus walked along dusty roads, He told the people about the Kingdom of God. He compared it to a pearl that was so valuable it was worth selling all you owned in order to obtain it. His words brought hope to hearts that were dry as the desert air. His work-calloused hands touched the lives of devalued children, scorned women and outcast men. Jesus routinely enjoyed the company of "sinners" and shocked the religious leaders by obeying God rather than them. And as He revealed that the only path to heaven was through Him—Jesus started building His church.

The early church continued the work and ministry of Jesus. They worshipped, taught the Word of God, and cared for each other's physical and spiritual needs. They were known by their love for God and each other. The legacy of the first church was the beauty of redeemed and changed lives.

At the Vineyard, our priorities are strikingly similar and surprisingly simple. We are committed to teaching the Bible; caring for each other's spiritual, emotional and physical needs; and reaching out to a lost and hurting world. We are continuing to build the church that Jesus started 2,000 years ago.
