Special Buddies for Special Kids

Approximately 90% of Americans with special needs do not attend churches because there are no services available. Vineyard is looking for volunteers to “buddy” with a special needs person. No experience is needed, just a willing, compassionate heart. Use the information card to volunteer.

We don't just need buddies for special needs persons. There is a gigantic population of special needs (developmentally disabled) adults who would like to attend a sunday school program. They might be functioning mentally from 5-10 years old but are in adult bodies. Sure they can attend worship service and enjoy it,but don't grasp the preaching of a regular church service. While well behaved, they sit there in a daze. They love Jesus and want to learn more. They don't want to be with little kids in children's church because they feel out of place. They need teaching on their level but in an atmosphere with peers....
