Administration/Office Support

Spiritual Gifts: Administration, Service, Helps Passion: Administration

Description of Ministry

Clerical Help: Our office produces materials that are used everywhere and in every ministry at VCNP. We have opportunities for people who can type, file, copy, stuff envelopes, proof-read, etc.

Receptionist Help: There are opportunities for people to be trained and to function as a back-up receptionist. All that is needed is a friendly voice and a willingness to learn. Your training is easy and fun with the detailed instructions and resources we have to assist you in this position.

Bulletin Stuffers: Every week we stuff inserts and sermon notes into thousands of bulletins for our weekend services. This is done by a team of volunteers. This team can always use a few more teammates.

Graphics Designer: We have graphic designers on staff, but good ideas can come from anywhere, we can always use illustrators and computer graphic artists. If you have gifts in this area, we would love to have you as part of this team.

Why does this ministry exist?

The vision if this ministry is to glorify God by serving the church and advancing the Kingdom of God through excellent administrative support.

First Serve Opportunity: You can stop in on Wednesday afternoons for a "First Serve Opportunity." You will help as we print the weekly bulletins and cut the bulletin inserts. Also you can come in Thursday mornings at 10:00 am and join our team as we put the weekend's bulletins together and fellowship with the team.

Audio/Visual Support

Spiritual Gifts: Service, Helps Passion: Technology

Description of Ministry

Sound Technician: Sound Technicians help level and control the sound for services, in addition they help set up the stage before and during weekend services.

Video/Lighting Technician: The Video/Lighting Technician controls the lighting, the Power Point slideshow, and any videos which may be needed during a service.

Audio/Visual Support Training: Training is available for all positions in this area of ministry.

Why does this ministry exist?

VCNP uses video, Power Point slideshows, and lighting to enhance both the experience and ministry of weekend services, the Audio/Visual Team makes sure that the experience of people attending a weekend service is a powerful and positive as it can be.

Bookstore Volunteer

Spiritual Gifts: Service, Helps, Administration Passion: Working with People

Description of Ministry

Bookstore Volunteer: Volunteer positions are needed for the sales floor during all weekend services. Volunteers are supplied with a "hot sheet" listing the items of special interest or special priced items. All the friendly faces help make a trip to the bookstore a positive experience.

Cashiers: These volunteers are responsible for ringing in all Bookstore sales. All volunteer cashiers must learn how and be willing to close out the registers after each last service.

CD/Tape Duplicators: Each weekend we make hundreds of tapes and CD's of the services. The volunteers who duplicate the teachings during each shift are also part of the sales floor team when not duplicating. These volunteers also produce and copy any special orders placed by customers from previous teachings and/or meetings.

Re-stocking Team: These volunteers work Wednesday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm every week. They receive books, music, gift items, snacks and sodas. They are responsible for re-stocking the sales floor each week to get the Bookstore ready for weekend services.

Why does this ministry exist?

The Sacred Grounds Bookstore exists to supply VCNP with materials to help them grow in their Christian walk as well as grow their ministries. The Bookstore's first line of ministry is supplying free Bibles to new believers to help them live and learn the life of Jesus Christ. The Bookstore is also self supporting; all proceeds go back into the Bookstore to help supply customers with best selling books regarding parenting, finances, relationships, spiritual growth and more.

First Serve Opportunity: To "First Serve" as a Bookstore Volunteer arrive 30 minutes prior to any service and tell the person at the register you are there to "First Serve" in the Bookstore. Most shifts are 2 hours. You can also "First Serve" on the re-stocking team, just come in any Wednesday-Friday from 10 am-1 pm and say you're there to "First Serve."

Care Caller Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Exhortation, Mercy, Administration Passion: Working With People

Description of Ministry

Care Caller: Care callers are a "behind the scenes" ministry which enables its team members the flexibility to participate from their home on their own time schedules. The Care Callers are committed to contacting every VCNP member by telephone to see how our church family is doing and offer prayer, if needed. Each team member receives about 24 names to contact each month for five months. Team members must be VCNP members.

Why does this ministry exist?

To enlist, educate, equip and encourage the Care Caller Team Members to devote themselves to keeping the lines of communication and prayer with our church family open, alive and blessed. Our mission is to strengthen and encourage our existing church family members by reaching out in voice and prayer to extend God's love, grace and mercy in a practical way.

Coffee Bar Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Service, Hospitality Passion: Working With People

Description of Ministry

Cashiers: This volunteer position is the lead person for each shift. This volunteer has been serving at least 6 months and is trained in all 3 positions of the Coffee Bar. The cashier is responsible for ringing in sales, closing, and overseeing all the other volunteers for the shift. This volunteer sets the tone for each shift.

Master Blenders: These volunteers learn to make all of the great frozen drinks the Coffee bar has to offer.

Baristas: The Baristas are the drink masters of hot drinks. Learn how to make Latte's, Mochas, Cappuccinos and more! This position takes additional training, especially for the rush!

Runners: The runners are usually the youngest volunteers; minimum age is 10 and you must be able to carry a 25lb bag of ice. These volunteers run to get milk, ice, whipped cream and more; whatever is needed whenever it's needed. They also keep the tables cleaned, stock the straws, and wash out the blenders. It's the best way to learn the ropes of Coffee Bar.

Coffee Saints: One of the most important ministries is our Free Coffee ministry. These volunteers make all the free coffee for all the services week in and week out. How many places can you go to get a free cup of coffee and hear the Word of God at the same time? This Ministry makes a big difference for those new to the church.

Why does this ministry exist?

The Coffee Bar's first line of ministry is to provide ALL the coffee and supplies for the Free Coffee Ministry. The proceeds from the Coffee Bar pay for every cup of coffee made on the premises. The Coffee Bar wants everyone attending weekend services to experience the best free cup of coffee around. We serve approximately 2000 cups of coffee each week.

First Serve Opportunity: There are several opportunities to "First Serve" in the Coffee Bar Ministry. To "First Serve" as a Master Blender or a runner arrive 30 minutes prior to any service and tell the volunteer's at the coffee bar that you are there to "First Serve." Most shifts are approximately 2 hours. You can also First Serve in the Free Coffee Ministry, just show up 30 minutes before any service and tell the friendly volunteers in the kitchen area you are there to "First Serve" in the Free Coffee Ministry.

Computer and Network Technology Ministry

Description of Ministry

Network upgrade: This year we have planned an extensive upgrade of our network infrastructure and servers. We have volunteer opportunities for people trained and qualified in network configuration and administration.

PC Preventative Maintenance: In today's IT world we are faced with changing and growing attacks on our network and workstations. We are looking for volunteers to help us stay clean and current. PC repair is also needed if this is your talent.

Equipment inventory and tracking: All of our IT equipment is documented and tracked with a file for each system. These files need reasonably constant attention. Our computer and technology ministry volunteers keeps these files up-to-date.

Web site volunteers: Exciting changes and directions are coming to VCNP.com and you can help. Perform coding tasks, work with staff to complete coding assignments in the goal of creating a more dynamic and user friendly web presence. Serve as forum moderators and gatekeepers for web submitted comments, questions and feedback. Help spread the good news through VCNP.com.

Compassion Outreach Ministry

Description of Ministry

Compassion Block Parties: Our compassion block parties provide a meaningful way to demonstrate the love of God to those living in financially struggling neighborhoods. Volunteers help by cooking, bagging groceries, distributing clothing, leading kid's games, praying for those requesting of prayer and assisting with the set-up and tear-down of the event.

Covering the Homeless: What started out as a small blanket giveaway in the inner city of Phoenix during the winter-time, has grown into a much larger blanket giveaway with personal hygiene items, clothing and free lunches. Volunteers help collect, cook, transport and give items away.

Thanksgiving Food Give Away: Every year we provide turkeys and food baskets for those who otherwise might not be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. Also, we serve a hot dog meal and have games for kids. Volunteers help collect, organize and give away baskets, cook and serve hot dog meal's, lead kid's games, and set-up and tear-down the event.

Why does this ministry exist?

Our purpose is to share the love of God in a tangible way with those in need that their circumstances might be improved and their hearts drawn closer to Jesus.

Outreach Ministry Team: The outreach ministry evangelism at VCNP uses many forms of outreach to share the love of Christ in our community. Outreach team members display the gifts of evangelism, service and administration.

Outreach Training: VCNP offers various classes that will equip you in the area of evangelism both within the church and in the community. These classes are Contagious Christianity, Servant Evangelism, Secret Greeter Training, and Small Group Outreach Coordinator Training.

Facility/Maintenance Team

Description of Ministry

Facility Care/Set-up: This ministry provides a distraction free environment by providing rooms, equipment and facility spaces that are clean and functioning well. Volunteers can help by cleaning, setting up rooms for events and performing general maintenance functions.

Grounds Beautification Team: The Grounds Beautification ministry creates a beautiful, safe and accessible campus to enhance the ministries of VCNP. Volunteers are needed to do general landscaping and to help keep the VCNP grounds clean and beautiful.

Building Trades: This ministry works to provide a distraction free environment for all events at VCNP by maintaining the heating/cooling, plumbing, electrical and other aspects of facility trades, painting, carpentry, etc. Volunteers skilled in these areas are always needed.

Why does this ministry exist?

The Facility/Maintenance team exists to keep the VCNP campus clean, safe and beautiful so that people who come to worship God here can do it without distraction.

Food and Clothing Bank

Food and Clothing Bank Volunteers: The Vineyard Food Bank is open to anyone in need of food or clothing. Hundreds of bags of groceries and clothing items are given out every week on Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as Tuesday evening. Food bank volunteers help to stock shelves, bag groceries, enter information into computers, and interview and pray for those receiving food.

Greeter Ministry

Description of Ministry

Greeter Team: Our greeters are our first line of welcome for both guests and members. They hand out bulletins and smiles. If you're friendly, have a great smile and a love for people we need you on the greeter team.

Secret Greeters: Our secret greeters greet people informally in the auditorium.

Greeter Training: New greeters are paired with seasoned greeters who "show them the ropes." We offer quarterly training and encouragement meetings to keep our greeters informed of all opportunities on campus.

Why does this ministry exist?

The vision of the greeter ministry is to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for our guests and members. Our goal is to greet each guest warmly and make their visit a positive experience. Greeter team members are friendly and inclusive in nature. They strive to make each person they greet feel valued and at home.

Hospital Visitation Ministry

Description of Ministry

Vineyard Cares Ministry: This ministry gives opportunities for volunteers to visit and encourage the sick and broken hearted in the body of Christ by reaching out to show we CARE for them. Ministry training is required to be involved in this Ministry.

Why does this ministry exist?

The mission of the hospital visitation ministry is to demonstrate the love of Jesus and to do the works of Jesus by ministering to and praying for the sick and brokenhearted in this congregation who have been hospitalized, are in nursing homes, or are home bound due to serious illness or accidents. To fulfill the words of Jesus to proclaim "the kingdom of heaven is at hand…heal the sick…freely you received, freely give" Matthew 10:7-8, and "I was sick, and you visited me…" Matthew 25:36, this ministry team will visit and pray for Vineyard attendees and their families who find themselves in need of God's love and mercy.

Mentoring/Discipleship Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Wisdom, Knowledge, Pastor Passion: Discipleship

Description of Ministry

Mentoring Ministry: Our mentoring ministry puts new believers with mature believers who help them mature in their faith. Mentors need to be mature believers who have the time and temperament to help someone else toward maturity.

Discipleship Ministry: We have dozens of classes in order to promote Christian growth. We have classes for all levels of Christian maturity, from brand-new believers to people who are contemplating planting a church. We also have specialized small groups designed to teach Christian values and understanding targeted toward different levels of Christian Maturity. We need volunteers to teach classes, lead small groups and host small groups.

Mentoring/Discipleship Training: Since this ministry requires a mature understanding of the Christian faith the volunteers are required to have completed the VCNP Leadership Track, which is listed on the VCNP Leadership Track brochure in the foyer.

Why does this ministry exist?

Jesus told us that we are to make disciples, that is, people who think and act as Jesus did. This ministry exists to help people become disciples and then help them make disciples.

Men's Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Service, Hospitality Passion: Men's Ministry

Description of Ministry

Momentum: This gathering meets on the 2nd Monday of each month for fellowship, teaching, worship and great food. Volunteers are needed to help with the cooking, registration, greeting and clean-up.

Men's Retreat: This annual event usually in April is an opportunity for our men to get away from their everyday responsibilities to seek the Lord, make new friendships and deepen old friendships. Volunteers are needed to help with registration, greeting and set-up/tear-down of the event.

Men's and Kid's Campout: Our June campout is a low key, high fun event at Woods Canyon Lake. We have a couple of meals together as a group and a fishing derby. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and cooking.

Daddy/Daughter Dance: Our April dance is a great time for Dads and their daughters to spend a fun evening together dancing the night away. Volunteers are needed to help serve the snacks, greeting, and with set-up and tear-down of the event.

Our purpose is to provide various opportunities where men can experience God's transforming power and love, resulting in purposeful living, Christlike behavior and meaningful male friendships.

Ministry Team

Description of Ministry

Ministry Team: Team members are available at the end of every service to pray with anyone who has a prayer need. Team members must have completed the Ministry Training Class.

Evening with the Holy Spirit: Each fall we meet on a Friday evening to focus on the person of the Holy Spirit, and His influence on our lives. The evening consists of worship, teaching, testimony, and ministry, with the goal of allowing the Holy Spirit to do what He wants to do. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and intercessory prayer.

Weekend with the Holy Spirit: Each spring, a weekend retreat is offered where we can remove ourselves from our normal surroundings and spend a couple of days focused on the person of the Holy Spirit. The goal of this retreat is to allow the Holy Spirit to do what He wants to do, and to teach us what He wants us to learn. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and intercessory prayer.

To ensure that those in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing receive proper ministry so that the Kingdom of God may be advanced in their lives.

Parenting Ministry

Description of Ministry

Parenting Ministry Team: The parenting ministry team is made up of individuals who have a heart to equip and encourage parents in their parenting skills. As a part of this team, you will help with classes, family nights, conferences, etc. Responsibilities would include helping with the following: registration, prayer team, food preparation and set-up/clean-up.

Why does this ministry exist?

The vision of this ministry is to provide teaching tools for parents that will enable them to teach and train their children in the ways of the Lord. The goal is to provide Godly instruction that will allow parents to raise healthy, well balanced children who will love God and follow Him throughout their lives.

Prayer Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Intercession, Prophecy, Wisdom Passion: Prayer

WHY DOES THIS MINISTRY EXIST?

Scripture teaches that prayer is fundamental for both developing an intimate relationship with God and for advancing the work of the kingdom of God. It is our desire to establish our dependence on God through the grace of prayer by providing a variety of ways for the people of God to engage in this essential activity.

Ministry Team

This team is available after every church service and any special events to pray for anyone with a need or prayer request. Throughout the year there are classes offered to train those interested in being on the Ministry Team. Contact Pastor Dave Johnson or Tim Frey for more information

Soaking Prayer Team

This is a ministry team formed to allow for those times when someone needs more than a short five minute prayer experience. Being a part of the regular Ministry Team is a pre-requisite for joining this team along with the special training associated with this type of prayer. First Friday Encounter God

The first Friday of every month everyone is welcome to an extended time of just being with our God in an atmosphere of prayer and worship from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Whether you have never been to a corporate prayer service or it is your favorite thing to do you are invited to join us as we look to the One who has captured our hearts. Watch the church bulletin for reminders.

Cry Out

The third Saturday of every month everyone is welcome to a time of corporate prayer to call upon God for His kingdom to come and His will to be done among us, just as it is in heaven. The prayer time is from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM (after the Saturday night services) in Room B. Watch your bulletin for reminders of this regularly scheduled time together.

Monday Night Corporate Prayer Small Group

This small group meets every Monday night except the first Monday of each month from 7:30 - 9:00 PM in the church prayer room. Our time together includes instruction on some aspect of corporate prayer followed by a time of corporate intercessory prayer and worship. Check the church foyer for the flyer with the small group details.

Pastoral Prayer Teams

Participants sign up to pray for the VCNP ministries of their choice and the pastor with oversight for that ministry for a period of one year. Prayer updates and requests are made available via email or mail. Sign up sheets are available in the Prayer Room or contact Pastor Dave Johnson.

Prayer Room

VCNP has a room especially set aside for the purpose of prayer. The room is available Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. During the week please see the church receptionist to verify room availability. It is also open all day on Sunday for anyone who wants to spend some time in quiet prayer and reflection.

Special Prayer Events and Retreats

Throughout the year there are special prayer events designed to meet a specific ministry need or a special set of circumstances as well as prayer retreats. Continue to watch your church bulletin for announcements regarding these opportunities or contact our Pastor of Prayer Dave Johnson for more information.

Prison Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Mercy, Teaching Passion: Compassion

Description of Ministry

In-Prison Bible Studies: Faithful trained volunteers travel weekly to prisons and jails to spread the good news of Jesus' love. Volunteers can help by assisting or leading a small group Bible study that introduce inmates to Christ and further disciples them in the spiritual basics – Bible reading, prayer and service to others.

Angel Tree: The Angel Tree ministry is a partnership between VCNP and Prison Fellowship International. We donate and deliver hundreds of toys and clothing to children whose parents are in prison. Volunteers help plan, receive and deliver gifts.

Why does this ministry exist?

The prison ministry exists to minister to those who are in prison, bringing them the good news of the gospel and helping them to turn their lives away from crime and toward Jesus Christ.

Security Ministry

Security Team: Our security team helps to keep VCNP and the people here safe. Volunteers patrol our campus during and between services and events making sure that the Vineyard is a safe and secure place to be.

Why does this ministry exist?

This ministry exists to provide a safe and secure place for people to congregate for worshipping God.

First Serve Opportunity: Ride/Walk along with our security teams as they patrol VCNP's grounds. This "First Serve" opportunity is available every weekend, just report to the Information Counter in the foyer thirty minutes before any service and tell them you are interested in "First Serving" in the Security Ministry.

Singles' Ministry

Spiritual Gifts: Service, Hospitality, Pastor Passion: Single's Ministry

Description of Ministry

Singles' Small Groups: Our singles' small groups exist to give a place for single adults to come together for prayer, ministry, comfort and fellowship. These small groups are a great place for single adults to "do life together" and be in community with other single believers. We have volunteer opportunities for Small Group Leaders, Small Group Hosts, and Worship Leaders.

Singles' Events: There are singles' events happening every month, most months there is more than one event. To put these on we have a singles' event coordination team. We need volunteers who can organize, plan, greet, oversee events, and set up/clean up after events.

Single Purpose Flyer: The singles' ministry puts out a monthly flyer listing up-coming events and articles by people regarding singles' issues. We need volunteers to write articles, take pictures and help put together the flyer.

Why does this ministry exist?

The singles' ministry exists to help single adults find their purpose and find community with other single adults. The singles' ministry is designed for each single adult to feel that they are part of God's family and experience both giving and receiving comfort in that family.

Description of Ministry

Usher Ministry: The usher ministry helps people have a comfortable experience in our weekend services. They do this by helping people with special needs, to find a seat, and with problems during the service. The usher team also helps with receiving the offering and coordinates Communion. We are always looking for volunteers in this vital ministry.

This ministry exists to facilitate our weekend services and see that the services run smoothly. They also make sure that both our members and guests feel welcomed when they attend one of our weekend services.

First Serve Opportunity: Minister with our usher team as they help people in our church auditorium to have an enjoyable experience. This "First Serve" opportunity is available each weekend. Report to any usher thirty minutes before a service. They will be in the auditorium wearing name-badges, and tell them you are interested in "First Serving" in the usher ministry.

Video Production Ministry: Here we use video to help promote various events in the church, feature a changed life, highlight a particular ministry, or support the message during a weekend message. Volunteers are needed in videography, non-linear editing Avid Systems and Final Cut Pro, lighting, and script writing.

Vineyard Kids Club 56 Ministry grades 5-6

Description of Ministry

Club 56 Lead Teacher: As a lead teacher in this department, you will lead kids in both large group learning and small group ministry. The curriculum you will be trained to use is relevant to today's kids. Lesson plans use role play, interactive games, group discussion and Bible applications to develop the teaching for each service.

Club 56 Teacher Helper: As a helper to the lead teacher, you will play an important role in supporting the teaching from each week's lesson. By showing the love of Jesus through building personal relationships and support of creative teaching, you will have a positive effect on many young lives while in this ministry.

Club 56 Classroom Greeter: Through greeting and registration, you will be helping the teachers to minister more effectively by greeting kids as they enter and making sure they have the appropriate name tags.

Infant and Toddler Lead Teacher: As a lead teacher in this department, you will have the wonderful opportunity to make church a great place for a small child to be. Your responsibilities would be to help meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each child at a young age. Training is provided.

Infant and Toddler Teacher Helper: As a helper to the lead teacher, you will play an important role in giving our kids a solid foundation from birth. By showing the love of Jesus through practical care and creative teaching, you will have a positive effect on many young lives while in this ministry.

Infant and Toddler Classroom Assistant: In this ministry you are helping others to minister more effectively through preparing the classrooms for weekend services. This includes the cleaning and disinfecting of all toys and equipment during the week to insure that our kids have the safest environment possible.

Preschool Lead Teacher: It is the goal of this ministry to influence a young child's heart to love and worship Jesus Christ. As a lead teacher in this department, you will be trained to follow a scheduled teaching program that will enable you to teach and to train children in biblical principles and Christian truth.

Preschool Teacher Helper: As a helper to the lead teacher, you will assist in the classroom by welcoming kids into the class, interacting with them in a loving and friendly manner, help prepare snacks and assist with activities that reinforce the biblical truth they are learning.

Preschool Classroom Preparation Volunteer: In this ministry you will be helping others to minister more effectively through preparing the classrooms for weekend services. This includes the cleaning of all toys and equipment during the week as well as setting out prepared curriculum and providing the room with a welcome feel.

Kid Check Lead Greeter: As a lead greeter in this ministry, you will greet all children and their parents as they enter the Vineyard Kids building. You will be trained to check kids into classrooms through the use of the computer station and to handle any needs that arise in a friendly, loving manner. You will stay for the entire service to complete the registration process and to handle any needs of the Kid Check area.

Kid Check Assistant Greeter: As an assistant greeter, you will greet/ register for only the first 30 minutes of each service. You will assist in greeting all children and their parents as they enter the Vineyard Kids building in a friendly, loving manner. You will be trained to check kids into classrooms through the use of the computer station.

Commitment: One month on and one month off rotation.

Encouraging Events: Women are encouraged through attending the Women's Retreat and Girl's Night Out. Volunteers can help by helping with registration, greeting, being table leaders, helping with snacks and coffee, being on the ministry team, and being involved in cleaning up.

Evangelizing Events: Women are welcomed and encouraged to learn about Jesus and His church through events such as the Women's Breakfasts and the Single Mom's Spa Day. Worship Team: Our worship teams lead us in worship at our weekend services and at special events. These volunteers are highly skilled musicians and singers, as well as requiring a heart for the worship of God. At various times during the year, auditions are held and are announced in the bulletin.

Small Group Worship Leader: The small group worship leaders lead worship in small groups and women's care groups. These talented volunteers are very important to the small group ministries of our church.

Illuminate: Illuminate is our monthly worship gathering. It's about intimacy with God in a public setting. It's about intense worship, relevant talks, and genuine community. We need volunteers to set-up/tear down, and greet.

Youth Ministry

Description of Ministry

Youth Services: Our youth services minister to Jr. High and High School Students. In order to make these services happen we need volunteers to help with preparation, teaching, oversight, and registration.

Youth Events: During the year there are many events all of them requiring many volunteers.

Youth Night: Every Wednesday is Youth Night at the Vineyard. Here the youth of the Vineyard come together for fellowship, worship and biblical teaching. In order to make these Youth Nights happen, we need volunteers to help with preparation, teaching, oversight, and registration.

Why does this ministry exist?

The mission of the Vineyard Youth ministry is to change ordinary teens into extraordinary followers of Christ. Vineyard Youth is for junior high and senior high students. Volunteers participate by joining the worship team, drama team, greeter team and media team
