  1. Introduction
  2. Reasons why I give
    1. I like myself better when I give.
      1. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
    2. Because God instructs me to give.
      1. Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over.”
      2. Matt. 6:19-21 19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;21for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
      3. Prov. 11:24-25 24“There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. 25The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered.”
      4. Ezek. 36:26 (NIV) “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
    3. I promised my church family I would be a giver.
      1. Matt. 5:37 “But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or’ No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil.”
    4. I give in order to position myself for God’s blessing and protection .
      1. Mal. 3:8-12 8“Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! 10Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. 11Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes, says the LORD of hosts. 12All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land,” says the LORD of hosts.

    5. I truly believe in the mission of our church .
    6. To be an example to my children .
    7. To hear God say to me, “ Well done , good and faithful servant.”
      1. Matt. 25:23 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’”
  3. Conclusion
