Vineyard Church North Phoenix | He is Able Letter

transforming ordinary people into extraordinary followers of christ

He is Able Letter

Dear Vineyard Family,

We are embarking on the greatest Kingdom adventure in the history of Vineyard Church North Phoenix.

We thought moving to 43rd and Olive in 1993 was big. This is bigger!

We thought buying 35 acres of land in 1997 was big. This is bigger!

We thought opening a 50,000 square foot worship complex in 2002 was big. It was. But this is bigger!

In fact, it's so big, that sometimes we shrug our shoulders and think, "How are we going to do this?" The truth is, in our own strength, intelligence, and finances we could never do what God is now asking us to do. But through Him, we can.

I'm talking about the next phase of growing the Vineyard North Phoenix campus. Why grow? That's an easy one: Because we are at capacity in almost every ministry area. Walk through the campus on Sunday morning and you'll see overflow: in the auditorium, children's ministry, youth ministry, parking lot, compassion building, bookstore, and more. There's no room for newcomers.

In the midst of this abundance, we still have a mandate: Reach more people who don't know Jesus. Jesus gave these final instructions to His disciples:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
(Matt. 28:19-20)

This is our calling at Vineyard North Phoenix. To reach people who are living lives far from God, to bring them the Good News of Jesus, and to help raise them up to be extraordinary followers of Christ. As I read Jesus' last instructions, I notice there's no ending point. It doesn't say, "When you've filled all the seats in your church, you are done going out and making disciples." No, this request to reach the lost will continue as long as there are lost people.

As you read through these web pages, you'll see that our plans are ambitious. In fact, you might think like we did, "How are we going to do this?" That's why we've chosen "He Is Able" as our campaign theme. It comes from Ephesians 3:20:

"God is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we could ask or think, according to His power that works within us."

If we only did what we knew we could do, then we would be building a monument to our ingenuity. But when we obey God and do something that seems over the top, then HE gets all the glory. Yes, we need to offer our best, but God is the One who will make this building campaign successful.

Please pray for the campaign and consider how you can financially support this exciting opportunity to reach more lost people. Remember, as you give your gifts of time and money you are fulfilling Jesus' request to "go and make disciples…"

May the Lord bless you for all you've done for His Kingdom in the past, and all you will do in the future.

Love,
Brian T. Anderson
Senior Pastor
