  1. Introduction
    1. Rev. 4:1-11 (NLT) 1Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this. 2And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. 3The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstoneslike jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. 4Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. 5From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God. 6In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal. In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. 7The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. 8Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almightythe one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.9Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), 10the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,11You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.
    2. Exodus 28:29 (NLT) In this way, Aaron will carry the names of the tribes of Israel on the sacred chestpiece over his heart when he goes into the Holy Place. This will be a continual reminder that he represents the people when he comes before the LORD.
  2. Making Your Heart a Throne Room
    1. Learn to carry God with you through each part of the day.
      1. Col. 3:23 (NAS) Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.
      2. Rev. 4:3b (NLT) And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow.
      3. Gen. 9:12-15 (NLT) 12Then God said, I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. 13I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. 14When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds,15and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life.
    2. By Trusting Gods Faithfulness .
      1. Rev. 4:4 (NLT) Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.
      2. Rev. 4:5a (NLT) From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder.
      3. Rev. 4:5b (NLT) This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.
      4. Rev. 4:6a (NLT) In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal.
    3. By acknowledging Gods Power .
      1. Rev. 4:6b-8 (NLT) 6bIn the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. 7The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. 8Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almightythe one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.
    4. By offering God constant worship .
      1. Rev. 4:9-11 (NLT) 9Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), 10the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,11You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.
    5. By laying my crowns before Jesus.
      1. Part of why God made you unique is to see and love a part of God that no one else quite like you can. And when you see it, and name it, and love it, all the rest of us will hear it and be able to see it because you see it. And our vision and love of God will be enriched because of the gift that you give.
