Small Group Support for Parents
Empowered Parenting is designed specifically for those who want to build strong families and connect with other parents in order to learn and grow in the parenting process.
Empowered Parenting will provide a safe place for parents to share experiences, struggles and joys with others who are on the same journey.
Empowered Parenting offers solid, spiritual training for parents in a single large group format, and then will break into individual small groups that will be targeted to specific parenting needs and situations.
Empowered Parenting meets at the church on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The spring session begins in March and ends in May.
Empowered Parenting will have children’s classes, nursery thru grade 6, available for a nominal fee. See brochure for details.
Small Groups Offered for the Spring 2009 Semester
Special Focus: Single-Parenting
Being a single parent is hard work. Being a single parent trying to raise Godly kids is even harder. Together this group will help you face the joys and challenges that every single parent will encounter. You are not alone!
Leader: Tess Lewis
Special Focus: Blended Families
A successful blended family is not a myth. This small group will take blended families on a journey to lasting success - The Promised Land. This group will deal with major blended family issues and will be packed with solid biblical solutions.
Leaders: Richard and Debbie Wooten
Special Focus: Parenting Tots to Teens
Ever wish you could change your child’s behavior - fast? With humor and commonsense, parents can learn how to influence their child’s attitude, behavior and character – for the better! Join this group as we study the book, “Have a New Kid by Friday” and become a great parent with a great kid!
Leader: Jody Kingston
Special Focus: Married with Children
The best gift you can give a child is two parents who love each other unconditionally. This is easier said than done. Unconditional love is promised at weddings, but rarely practiced in real life. As a result, romantic hopes are often
replaced with disappointment. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This group will discover “The Love Dare” and learn practical ways to “FIREPROOF” your marriage.
Leaders: Josh and Lindsay Schlesinger
