Vineyard Food and Clothing Bank
Two thousand years ago Jesus touched the lives of those in His community, not only with many powerful, miraculous actions but also with some very simple tangible acts of kindness. We are often asked, 'Why do we take the time and effort to give out food and clothing?'
The answer is simple.
We believe this is one of the things Jesus would be doing if He were here today.
When is the Food and Clothing Bank open?
- Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays at 9 AM
- Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 PM
- We are closed on Fridays
The Food and Clothing Bank will be closed on:
- Tuesday, December 24
- Wednesday, December 25
- Tuesday, December 31
- Wednesday, January 1
Is there a limit as to how many families can be helped?
Yes. We are only able to help the first 35 households each day, and then we close for the remainder of the day. We suggest you plan on coming a little early to line up as it's 'first come first serve.'
How often can someone receive food?
A household may receive food twice in a calendar month (for example, two times in the month of May)
What do I need to bring with me in order to receive help?
You will need two forms of identification:
- a Picture ID (driver's license, etc.)
- Proof of Residence (utility bill, auto registration, etc.).
There is more than one person living at my home, do I need to bring their identification as well?
No. This is per household. You do not need to bring identification for your children either.
Do I have to be a member of the Vineyard to receive help?
No. It doesn't matter where you live or what church you attend. Anyone who is in need can come.
Can I get financial assistance at the Food Bank as well?
No. Unfortunately, we cannot offer financial assistance.
Do you deliver Food Boxes?
No. Unfortunately we are unable to deliver. You must physically come to our Food Bank to receive a food box.
Do you take Donations?
We accept all new and gently used men's, women's and children's clothing. Please be sure to launder any clothing you would like to donate and put it in bags. We have a donation box on the East side of the compassion building where you can deposit the clothing. We are not accepting any non food/clothing items at this time.
What can I expect at the Food and Clothing Bank?
Everyone who requests assistance is asked to fill out a questionnaire. The information is then added into our computer system. Our guests are then interviewed and we ask if we may pray with them. During this time, we hope to get to know our guests a little better and to let them know how much God truly loves them. If needed, we also give our guests information about other programs that may be helpful to them at this time. From there, they are given the option to choose some clothing while their food box is being prepared.
