Vineyard Church North Phoenix | 2009 Child Dedication - October 24, 2009

We celebrated our last Child Dedication of 2009 on Saturday, October 24th. This time around, 8 families dedicated 10 children to the Lord in a public ceremony before our church family. We believe that this is one of the most important decisions parents can ever make and we congratulate them.

The parents who dedicated children at this ceremony were required to attend a parent training class. In the class, parents are given an overview of what Child Dedication is and is not, scripturally-based strategies for laying and building a godly foundation in the life of their child and help in understanding the spiritual development of a child at different age milestones.

Our hopes are that this prerequisite to Child Dedication at the Vineyard will help to prepare parents for the spiritual aspect of child-rearing, not just the physical and emotional aspects that are so widely discussed in today's secular parenting resources.

In dedicating their children, these parents made the following commitments according to God's Word and His ways:

• To raise their children in the training and instruction of the Lord
• To set a Godly example in their lifestyle for their children to follow
• To love their children with the same unconditional love that their Heavenly Father gives to them.

We had a wonderful time of celebration at the reception that followed the ceremony and were able to share this joyful occasion with extended family members as well. We wanted to share a few pictures with you-enjoy!
