State of the VCNP Website: November 2006

First, a hearty thank you to all who've contributed to the process, or endured the change and weathered learning some new ways. A website without viewers would just be a scrawling of irrelevance. I hope and pray for a continuation of the release success we've experienced.
Some of the features we've implemented in the past few weeks, post-release:
- Anonymous Comment Posting - non-registrants can leave comments now, albeit after providing an email address and passing a CAPTCHA test to prove they are human, and not machine.
- Galleries - site editors now have the ability to post image galleries, and check out the Family Fest 2006 writeup for an example of this feature, which will be wonderful for capturing after action reports of ministry events or any church happenings, if so desired.
- Spiritual Gift Assessment Survey - well, not a new feature, but the Spiritual Gift Assessment Survey has now been migrated from the old site.
- Expanded profiles - registered users will now see more fields on the update profile page, and there is now an option to allow your contact information to be viewed by other vineyardnorthphoenix.com registrants (but not to anonymous, those not logged into the site, visitors). Also, regardless of whether you check the "share info" box on the profile form, if you use our online giving process, your name and address information will be auto-filled in.
- VCNP Community Directory - with expanded profile information, soon a directory of all vineyardnorthphoenix.com registrants. Of course, information shared only with your consent.
- "Splashing" up the front page - adding splash to the front page and radically redesigning its look and feel. The goal being to emphasize the current sermon series and the top three upcoming events. Additionally, render a more elegant and concise panel into all that's available on the site.
- Online class/conference registrations - to make it easier to sign up for VCNP classes and conferences.
- Chat - chat application to permit VCNP registrants to post and read messages in real time.
- TBD - anything else desired and requested that's worth doing! Share your ideas...
