I. Introduction

3 John 14-15 (NAS) 14But I hope to see you shortly, and we will speak face to face. 15Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.

Proverbs 17:17a (NAS) A friend loves at all times.

II. Four “H”s of Friendship

A.

Proverbs 8:13 (NAS) “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverted mouth, I hate.”

Proverbs 17:17a (NAS) A friend loves at all times.

1 John 4:20 (NLT) If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

Proverbs 12:19 (NAS) Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment.

Proverbs 27:6 (NLT) Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.

Proverbs 17:22 (NAS) A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 12:25 (NLT) Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

Proverbs 18:24 (NLT) There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
