Brian T. & Thora Anderson

Brian and Thora are the founding and Senior Pastors of Vineyard Church North Phoenix.

VC started in September 1985 as a small Bible study in their North Phoenix home while they were both teachers at Deer Valley High School. Over the last 35+ years, God has grown VC to become a church connecting thousands to His love, healing, presence, and community. They have had the privilege of pastoring VC through it's many eras and phases since it started as a small group in their living room to the church it is today.

Brian and Thora have a deep desire to build a healthy, multi-racial, multi-generational church that is a fully orbed expression of the Kingdom of God on earth where those far from God are meet Him, neighbors are cared for, and the least and lost are cared for.

In addition to pastoring VC, Brian has served Vineyard USA, an association of about 500 churches around the U.S., as a board member, regional leader, regional coach, and Vice President and taught at conferences around the world.

Brian grew up in Washington state and met Jesus while in College at Grand Canyon University. He has a B.S. in Mathematics from Grand Canyon and an M.A. in Mathematics from Arizona State University. Thora grew up in Missouri and has a B.A. in English from Grand Canyon University.

They have raised two wonderful children, Zoe and Luke, who are both now young adults studying in New York City and Phoenix.

Marty Kaiser

Executive Pastor

Marty is the Executive Pastor of VC and founding pastor of Reveal campus.

Marty Kaiser

Marty's early pursuit of Jesus started at the age of 14. Since then he has been dedicated to serving His Church and living a life that reflects Jesus.

Marty was an Associate Pastor at VCNP for 15 years before he and his wife, Shelia, planted Reveal Vineyard, in Surprise, in 2008.

Marty reunited with VCNP in October 2022 to serve as the Executive Pastor.

Marty and Shelia have three incredible children; Tatum, Josiah and Justis. Family time is loud and obnoxious and always filled with laughter - they wouldn’t have it any other way!

Keith Shepherd

Community Life Pastor
Keith Shepherd

Hey! I’m Keith, and I consider myself an Arizona “transplant native.”

I am a super geek and love sci-fi, superheroes, and Rubik’s cubes. I have a music degree in percussion from GCU. Go Lopes! My whole family loves serving together at church in worship tech, youth worship, and the coffee bar.

One of my favorite things is celebrating water baptisms. To me, baptism is a snapshot of a life being transformed by Jesus. If you’re a follower of Jesus, but you haven’t been baptized, that’s your next step!

Hola, my name is Eloisa, I love to play, to scream, to jump, and laugh. I enjoy family, friends, and neighbors. Children are my inspiration and the treasure of my heart! My favorite movies are the Little Mermaid and Only You.

Since I met Jesus, He has been my morning coffee and the engine of my life!

My goal is to bring Good News to the poor, to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.

Heather Cook

First Impressions & Women's Pastor
Heather Cook

I am deeply passionate about supporting and empowering women, recognizing their incredible strength and resilience.

My goal is to create a welcoming, friendly, and inclusive environment at VCNP. I genuinely care about each individual who walks through our doors, and I believe in showing them authentic compassion and care. It's through these genuine connections that we can encourage and support others on their walk with the Lord.

Outside of my ministry, I find joy in nature, whether it's hiking, exploring, or tending to my chickens. Being outdoors is always an opportunity for fun adventures and a chance to connect with the beauty of the world.

God's call to serve and help others through discipleship has been a driving force in my life. He has faithfully guided me to challenging positions, always fulfilling his promises.

I find deep fulfillment in the ministries I'm involved with here at VC, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing the transformative work God will do in the lives of many, including my own.

My vision is to inspire men to fully surrender to God, leading them to experience true joy in a relationship with Christ and discover freedom in his love.

Outside of my spiritual journey, I find joy in traveling, hiking, and mountain biking.

Eddie Hyatt

Next Steps & Prayer Pastor
Eddie Hyatt

¡Hola! The Hyatt Family has been proud to call Phoenix home since 2007. My wife, Michelle (Pastoral Administrator), and I have the awesome privilege of working on staff together at VCNP. All three of our sons are native Arizonans, born right here in the Valley of the Sun.

I feel that God's calling on my life right now is to continue to encourage and disciple people as they get involved here at Vineyard. We always say “everyone gets to play” and my life is evidence of that! So if you aren’t serving currently I encourage you to find an opportunity to do it!

I was born in Glendale, California, just outside of Los Angeles. From playing baseball in Little League through high school, cheering on my hometown Los Angeles Dodgers, and now as the coach for my twin sons, baseball is a huge part of my life.

Joe Hernandez

Compassion Director
Joe Hernandez

Hi, I’m Joe, most people don’t know my real name isn’t Joe or even Joseph. My name is Yoan but only my mother calls me that.

My wife, Stephany, and I have been married for 9 years and have 3 beautiful girls. I enjoy playing video games, watching football and I’m in way too many fantasy football leagues.

We have attended Vineyard since 2018. I gave my life to Jesus here and was baptized that same year.

We have been leaders at the food bank since 2019. I absolutely love our Compassion ministry, and the things God is doing through it. I am excited to be able to expand our Compassion ministry and continue to do what Jesus is calling us to do.

David Quaid

NextGen & Youth Pastor
David Quaid

My ministry journey began with a single 'yes' to an invitation to serve in Youth Ministry as a table leader. Over the course of fourteen years, I have continued to embrace each invitation that God sends my way.

My true passion lies in raising up leaders, fostering connections between students and God, and making meaningful contributions to large projects.

As the NextGen Pastor, my primary objective is to establish a discipleship path and consistent strategy for children and college-aged programming. I am dedicated to enhancing the experience of children and parents at Vineyard Church North Phoenix, constantly striving for refinement and improvement.

Aside from my dedication to ministry, I also have a fondness for gummy candy, ice cream, and donuts.

Worship Arts Pastor
James Moscardini

Born in Reading, UK, I relocated to Phoenix in 2010 to join VCNP as a part-time assistant, following my internship here in 2009.

My deep love for music led me to become the producer for LoFi Vineyard and contributed to numerous Vineyard Worship albums.

Empowering individuals to fully realize their potential in pursuing the divine calling placed upon their lives is one thing that brings me great satisfaction.

You may not believe this but I currently hold the VC record for pizza slices eaten in one sitting at Peter Piper Pizza.

Above all, I cherish my beloved wife Samantha, our two children, and my unwavering support for Chelsea F.C.

I was born in Ypsilanti Michigan and moved with my parents and 5 siblings to Arizona in 2007.

I love sushi, poke bowls, tacos (honestly eating food in general) and hanging out with my friends!

Worship, music, singing and songwriting have been a part of my life from a very young age.

Jim Hummel

Director of Operations
Jim Hummel

Born and raised in sunny Sebring, Florida, I found my faith in 1979 while visiting my Dad in Arizona. Since 1989, I've been an active member of the Vineyard Church of North Phoenix. In 2004, I was hired by the church as the Director of Operations.

Before VCNP, I had a career in the restaurant business, where I enjoyed engaging with customers and managing teams. Now, at VCNP, I get to interact with our congregation, lead projects, and collaborate with an amazing team.

In 1985, I married my lovely wife, Xan, and we have three wonderful children: Morgan, Elizabeth, and Micah. When I'm not at church or work, you'll find me kicking a soccer ball or enjoying activities with my grandson, Emerson.

And here's a fun fact: I can hang by my toes, and I once leaped off an airboat to catch a deer by its horns!

I’ve felt a calling on my life since the age of 9 when I gave my life to Christ during an altar call at my grandmother's church.

Over the years, my life experiences have strengthened my faith and allowed me to learn how to accept God’s wonderful grace and mercy.

I have a passion for allowing the hope of my life experiences to be “good news” to others and inspire them to never give up. It’s never too late to experience greater transformation!

By God's grace, my wife Kiona and I have been married for 25 years and have four beautiful children, Israel, Isaiah, Isaac and Keilani.
