Worship Auditions

Apply & audition to serve on in the VC worship ministry.

Our desire to find those equipped with the skills, passion, heart, time, energy, and resources to serve the Lord and Vineyard Church North Phoenix through worship and the arts.

Serving, loving and leading in our church is where the “rubber meets the road.” It’s where we learn to be givers in this life instead of takers.

Along with musicianship, and a heart to serve, we are looking for a stage presence that invites the congregation to worship.

Audition process & requirements

The process begins with an application and accompanying video audition outlined below. Requirements to serve on a VC worship team:

  • Must actively be attending Vineyard Church North Phoenix prior to serving.
  • Must already be, or be willing to become, a member of VC by taking the Newcomers class and Membership class at the next available time given upon being welcomed to serve in our worship ministry.
  • All volunteers adhere to VC’s Worship Team Covenant.

  • Must be able to play to a click track (metronome)

Application & Auditions

Phase 1: Video Audition

The first step is to submit videos yourself playing the songs listed below with your application. Instructions:

  • Start your video by telling us how long you’ve led or been involved in worship, where you’ve led or if/where you are leading currently.
  • Videos must be uploaded to YouTube and marked as unlisted. You will then include these links in the correct field of the worship team application and submit.
  • Videos from live worship are also acceptable if you are clearly heard.

If you would like to audition for multiple instruments, or an instrument and vocals, please submit separate videos for each.

Drums, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, or Bass

Choose two of the following songs and record a video of yourself playing along with the recording. Electric Guitarists, please take a minute to show us your pedal board.

Vocals

Please demonstrate both lead and harmonies. Choose two of the following songs and record yourself singing along with the recording:

Piano or Keys

Choose two of the following songs and record a video of yourself playing along with the recording:

Choose two of the following songs and record yourself leading it with live musical accompaniment:

Phase 2: Live Audition

  • Live Auditions will be invitation only.
  • We will email those who we would like to see audition live.
  • Live auditions are typically held on Thursday evenings.

Youth Worship Application & Auditions

Are you in Vineyard Youth? The audition process is similar… first with a video audition, then a live audition.

Start your video by telling us how long you’ve played your instrument and 30 seconds about you.

Upload your video to YouTube marked as unlisted and include the links in your application. Videos from live worship are also ok as long as you’re clearly heard.

If you aren’t quite ready for the stage yet, we’ll give you some direction for your next steps. If you might be ready, we’ll follow up to schedule a live audition. Thank you for auditioning!
